Metro Police Release on Fatal Shooting on Brandywine Street

Metro Police have released the following information about a fatal shooting on Brandywine Street in Southeast D.C. Tuesday night. The shooting killed 30-year-old James Pone.

Homicide in the 700 block of Brandywine Street, SE.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating the fatal shooting which occurred in the 700 block of Brandywine Street, SE.

On Tuesday, December 21, 2010, at approximately 9:00 pm, units from the Seventh District responded to the 700 block of Brandywine Street, SE, for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival on the scene, they located a victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 30-year-old James Pone of Southeast, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
