Attorney Seeking to Have Raymond Roseboro Moved from DC Jail

At a status hearing Thursday defense attorney James Rudasill asked to have Prince Okorie murder defendant Raymond Roseboro removed from DC Jail.

Rudasill said Roseboro was stabbed in jail on June 25, suffering a collapsed lung and requiring four days of hospitalization. City Paper first reported the incident.

Judge Lynn Leibovitz said Roseboro’s placement is an administrative matter and asked Rudasill to take his request to Jail authorities.

AUSA Stephen Gripkey, who is prosecuting the case, said the government is still investigating Okorie’s death and expects an indictment before Sept. 8.

Leibovitz set Sept. 8 as Roseboro’s next court appearance.
