Week Ahead

Each Friday, Homicide Watch brings you a tickler of which murder cases are coming up in the DC courts. Four preliminary hearings are scheduled for the week in the cases of those accused of killing Isaiah Harris, Lamont Warren, Jinnell McQueen and Delonte Butler.

On Monday Eugene Kelly is expected for a preliminary hearing in front of Judge Thomas Motley. Kelly is accused of killing 15-year-old Isaiah Harris in Northeast DC on May 30. Kelly is represented by attorney Eugene Ohm.

Patricia Cave is expected in front of Judge Lynn Leibovitz on Tuesday for a preliminary hearing. Cave is accused of killing Lamont Warren. Cave is represented by attorney Santha Sonenberg.

On Wednesday, Kevin Benbow is expected in Judge William Jackson’s courtroom for a preliminary hearing. He is accused in the shooting death of Jinnell McQueen. His preliminary hearing was postponed in May. He’s represented by attorney Madalyn Harvey.

Also Wednesday, Keith Littlepage and Rickey Pharr are expected in Judge Thomas Motley’s courtroom for status hearings. Littlepage is accused of killing Selina Knight. Pharr is accused of killing Angelo Jones.

Ronald Page is on Judge Gerald Fisher’s Thursday calendar for a status hearing; Page is accused of killing his stepson, Nicholas Satcher. He has pleaded innocent to the charge.

Friday is expected to be a busy day in many DC Superior Court courtrooms, with five status conferences and one preliminary hearing scheduled.

Judge Lynn Leibovitz is expecting Phillip Crooms for a preliminary hearing in a felony murder case. Crooms is accused of killing Delonte Butler in September 2010.

Leibovitz also has Jerome Bailey on her calendar for a status conference. Bailey is suspected of killing Rico Matthews and prosecutors said at Bailey’s last hearing that an indictment in the case could be handed up this month (July). Court records currently (7-7) do not list an indictment in the case.

Chamontae Walker and Leon Truesdale are on Judge Thomas Motley’s Friday calendar for status hearings. Walker is accused of killing Darrel Hendy in Southeast D.C. last September. Trusdale is accused of killing Calvin Godsey in June of last year.

Judge William Jackson is expecting Joshua Andrews on Friday for a status conference in a first degree murder case. Andrews is suspected in the shooting death of 17-year-old Darond Lucas last June.

Finally, Judge Gerald Fisher is expecting Javon Hale for a status conference. Hale is suspect of killing Manuel Sanchez in May 2010.
