Week Ahead

Next week is relatively quiet at D.C. Superior Court for homicide cases. A scheduled preliminary hearing for Albrecht Muth, suspected of killing his wife, Viola Drath, in their Georgetown home, has been postponed. It was originally scheduled for Friday.

Three other cases are still on the books for next week, though.

On Thursday, James Brewer and Stephen Page are expected for a preliminary hearing in a first-degree murder case. They are suspected in the murder of Solomon Reese. Judge Thomas Motley is expected to hear the case at 9:10 a.m.

Also Thursday, Shawn Davis is expected to be arraigned on a charge of first-degree murder in the stabbing death of Tawanna Barnes Copeland. Judge Gerald Fisher is expected to hear the case at 9:30 a.m.

Then, on Friday, Steven Cephas is expected to be arraigned on a charge of first-degree murder in the death of Dominic Kingsbury Jr. Judge William Jackson is expected to hear the case.

Kevin Clark and Donald Crosland are expected for a status hearing with Judge Motley. They are suspected in the death of Ricardo Minger.

Each Friday, Homicide Watch brings you a tickler of upcoming hearings in the cases we follow. All hearings are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. unless otherwise noted. To add an item to the calendar, email homicidewatchdc [at] gmail.com.
