On Wednesday, Keir Johnson and Marcellus Jackson are expected by Judge Thomas Motley for arraignment. Johnson and Jackson are two of seven men named in an eighty count gang indictment connected to the shooting death of Jamal Coates. Johnson was arrested in Jacksonville, North Carolina Dec. 19
On Thursday, Curtis Patterson and Rickey Pharr are expected for a status conference with Judge Motley. Patterson and Pharr are charged in the death of Angelo Jones. A trial is scheduled to begin Feb. 13.
Judge William Jackson is expecting Steven Cephas for sentencing. Cephas pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in the death of his girlfriend’s 20-month-old child, Dominic Dwayne Kingsbury Jr., who was in Cephas’ care on Nov. 8, 2010.
Judge Jackson is also expecting Cinthya Proctor and Laurence Hassan for sentencing. Proctor and Hassan pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the death of Latisha Frazier. Two of their former co-defendants, Brian Gaither and Johnnie Sweets, are expected for status hearings with Judge Jackson Friday as well.
