Antonio Eugene Williams died on Nov. 8, 2011, after an alleged assault on Oct. 27. Today, MPD says his case has officially been ruled a homicide by the Baltimore Medical Examiner’s Office.
Williams, 40, was found unconscious in the 4500 block of Douglas Street Northeast. He was hospitalized and remained on life support until succumbing to his injuries.
MPD issued a reward poster in November calling Williams a victim of homicide. It remains unclear why he was transported to Baltimore for an autopsy.

Homicide in the 4400 Block of Douglas Street, Northeast
(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide which occurred in the 4400 block of Douglas Street, Northeast.
On Thursday, October 27, 2011, at approximately 6:40 pm units from the Sixth District responded to a call for an assault in the 4500 block of Douglas Street, Northeast. Upon their arrival, they located the victim, an adult male, and found him to be unconscious. The preliminary investigation revealed the victim was involved in a physical altercation in the 4400 block of Douglas Street, Northeast that rendered him unconscious. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was admitted in critical condition.
The victim remained on life support and on Tuesday, November 8, 2011, at 4:20 pm, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The decedent, identified as 40-year-old Antonio Williams of Northeast, Washington DC, was subsequently transported to the Baltimore Medical Examiner’s Office pending an autopsy.
On January 18, 2012, the Metropolitan Police Department received notification from the Baltimore Medical Examiner’s Office that they had ruled the cause of death to be blunt force trauma to the head and the manner of death to be homicide.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
