SW DC Man Arrested in 2009 Killing of Richard Robinson

A 21-year-old DC man was arrested Tuesday in a three-year-old homicide case, MPD said in a press release.

According to the release, James Rico Wood is suspected of second degree murder while armed in connection with the 2009 shooting death of 22-year-old Richard Robinson.

Arrest Made in the 2009 Homicide in the 4300 Block of Wheeler Road, S.E.

(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced an arrest has been made in the 2009 homicide in the 4300 of block of Wheeler Road, SE.

On Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at approximately 12:08 am, officers from the Seventh District responded to the 4300 block of Wheeler Road, SE for the report of sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival on the scene, officers located an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The decedent in this case is identified as 22-year-old Richard Robinson.

On Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at approximately 6:45 pm, members from the Seventh District arrested 21 year-old James Rico Wood, of Southwest, DC, in the 4300 block of Wheeler Road, SE, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant and charged him with Murder Two while Armed.
