Man Killed in Stabbing Friday Night

A man found stabbed on North Capitol Street NW last night died of his injuries and police are searching for a suspect described as a black male, 5‘7 tall, with a medium complexion and a beard.

The victim in the case has not been identified by police.

A statement from MPD Lieutenant Eddie G. Fowler is after the jump.

On May 18, 2012, at approximately 2143 hours, First District personnel were dispatched to the 1200 block of North Capitol Street, NW, in reference to a stabbing. Upon arrival on the scene, First District members discovered an unconscious male victim suffering from multiple stab wounds to the upper torso. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced.

The suspect, who was last seen running westbound in the unit block of N Street, Northwest, was described as a black male, 5‘7”, medium complexion with a beard.

The offense is being investigated by the Violent Crimes Branch Unit, 202-645-9600. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099.
