Video Shows Persons of Interest in Death of Raasheem Jamal Rich

Police have released a video showing two men they believe were involved in the fatal stabbing of Raasheem Jamal Rich.

Rich died Thursday afternoon in the year’s first homicide. He was found suffering from stab wounds in the 2800 block of Alabama Avenue Southeast and died after being taken to a nearby hospital.

Homicide: 2800 Block of Alabama Avenue, SE

(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the persons of interest, shown in the video link below, in connection with the fatal stabbing which occurred in the 2800 block of Alabama Avenue., Southeast.

On Thursday, January 10, 2013, at approximately 3:27 pm, an off duty Metropolitan Police officer was flagged down for a stabbing in the 2800 block of Alabama Avenue., SE. Upon the arrival of the off duty officer and additional units from the Sixth District, they located an adult male suffering from apparent stab wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

The decedent is identified as 40-year-old Raasheem Jamal Rich of Northeast, Washington, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
