In brief:

Robert Carter was sentenced to 70 years in prison Friday for fatally shooting his 13-year-old daughter, Angel Morse, in 2010. Carter also stole a MetroAccess vehicle and led police on a chase to Capitol Heights, Md.

Anthony Speight was sentenced to 21 years Friday for the 2011 slaying of William Robert Mitchell.

A jury began deliberating Thursday in the case against Karl Pugh, who is suspected in the Sept. 20, 2011, death of Quentin Joavor Ragland.

David Bolden pled guilty Thursday to murdering Lamont Devore in May 2012.

A jury convicted Raymond Roseboro Wednesday of first-degree murder for the 2010 shooting death of 16-year-old Prince Okorie. It was the third trial for Roseboro—both previous trials ended with hung juries.

Davon Thomas was ordered held Wednesday on suspicion of fatally stabbing his grandfather, Emanuel Campbell, when the two began arguing Jan. 17.

David Jamal Wilson was ordered held Tuesday in connection with the Feb. 2 fatal stabbing of Howard Venable Jr on Fuller Street Northwest.

Demonte Michael Chappelle, 21, was arrested Saturday in connection with the October 2012 shooting death of Stevann Moorer.
