Kenneth Guytrell Sweet Killed in Early Morning SE DC Shooting

A 30-year-old Northeast DC man was fatally shot early Saturday morning in Southeast DC.

The man, identified by police as Kenneth Guytrell Sweet, was found unconscious by officers at about 3:46 a.m. They were responding to a report of a shooting. Sweet was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Homicide: Rear of the 2900 Block of 2nd Street, Southeast

(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting which occurred in the rear of the 2900 block of 2nd Street, Southeast.

On Saturday, September 7, 2013 at approximately 3:46 am, patrol officers from the Seventh District responded to the rear of the 2900 block of 2nd Street, Southeast for the report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they located an unconscious adult male suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced.

The decedent is identified as 30 year-old Kenneth Guytrell Sweet of Northeast, Washington, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
