Willard Carlos Shelton Killed in Sunday Morning Shooting

Willard Carlos Shelton died at a local hospital Sunday after being found with gunshot wounds in the 2500 block of Pomeroy Road Southeast.

Police found Shelton, 38, just around 7:04 a.m. Sunday.

(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide which occurred in the 2500 block of Pomeroy Road, Southeast.

On Sunday, August 31, 2014, at approximately 7:04 am, members from the Seventh District responded to a call for a shooting in the 2500 block of Pomeroy Road, Southeast. Upon arrival, they located an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Medical Emergency Services personnel transported the victim to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 38 year-old Willard Carlos Shelton of Alexandria, Virginia.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
