Heritage Jones Arrested in Kirk Perry’s Murder

A 21-year-old D.C. man was arrested Wednesday for the shooting death of Kirk Deangelo Perry, 50, on December 1.

Police say Heritage Jones is suspected of second-degree murder while armed.

Perry was found unconscious in the 2400 block of Elvans Road Southeast suffering from gunshot wounds. He died a little after midnight at a local hospital.

Arrest Made in Homicide: 2400 Block of Elvans Road, Southeast

(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced that an arrest has been made in the homicide which occurred in the 2400 block of Elvans Road, Southeast.

On Monday, December 1, 2014, at approximately 12:38 am, police officers from the Seventh District responded to a call for service in connection to a shooting in the 2400 block of Elvans Road, Southeast. Upon arrival, they located an unconscious male outside the incident location, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 50-year-old Kirk Deangelo Perry, of Southeast, Washington, DC.

On Wednesday, December 3, 2014, an officer from the Seventh District arrested 21-year-old Heritage Jones of Southeast, Washington DC, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, charging him with Murder II while Armed in the shooting death of Kirk Perry.
