Sixth Homicide Victim in DC Since Thursday Night: Andre McIntyre

A man found beaten shortly after midnight early Saturday morning has died; he is the sixth homicide victim in DC since Thursday night.

Police identified the man as 46-year-old Andre McIntyre of Northwest DC.

They said police received a call for an unconscious person in the 3700 block of D Street, Southeast at 12:20 a.m. McIntyre was found there suffering from head trauma. He was transported to a local hospital where he was declared dead.

These deaths bring the 2014 homicide count to 24. In the same period last year 12 people were killed.

Man Killed in Early Morning NW DC Shooting; Fifth Homicide in 36 Hours

Update: MPD has identified the victim in this case as 51-year-old Billy Andre Harris of Northwest. A press release from MPD is after the jump.

A man died after being shot early Saturday morning in Northwest DC, the fifth homicide in less than 36 hours in the District.

A message on the Fourth District listserv from Commander Kimberly Chisley-Missouri states:

Around 3am, units received a call for a shooting in the 4800 blk of 9th St NW. Upon arrival an adult male was located suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He has been pronounced. Members of the Homicide Branch are investigating this case. Anyone with information is asked to call 202-727-9099.

Two Killed in NE DC Friday Night

Update: NBC Washington reports that the victims have been identified as brothers Khalid Jamal Bryant, 34, and Jason Emmanuel Bryant, 26.

Two men were killed in a double shooting in Northeast DC just before 8 p.m. Friday night, according to media reports.

The deaths are the third and fourth homicides since Thursday evening.

Reports WTOP:

Police would not confirm the ages of the men, nor the circumstances. They said one was treated and pronounced dead on the scene, the other was taken to the hospital where he died. They confirmed to WTOP that the shooting occurred around 8 p.m. Friday on Lee Street at the intersection of 50th Street near Sheriff Road, N.E.

Jibril Abdul-Muwwakil Arrested in Stabbing Death of Jonathon Adams

A 24-year-old Southeast DC man has been arrested in connection with the stabbing death of 17-year-old Jonathon Adams.

The man, identified by police as Jibril Abdul-Muwwakil, is suspected of second-degree murder while armed.

Jonathon Adams Memorials: “my lil cousin jus turned 17 last week”

On Thursday, 17-year-old Jonathon Adams became the first homicide victim under the age of 18 to be killed this year in DC.

Adams was stabbed Thursday in the 4300 block of Halley Terrace, Southeast. He was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.

WJLA reported that the incident happened a few blocks from Ballou High School. There are reports that the victim could be a Ballou student.

Tykia Dickerson Memorials: “I gained a new angel… Her name is Tykia Dickerson”

Tykia Dickerson’s death marks the 21st homicide in Washington DC during the year 2014.

Nineteen-year-old Dickerson was found lying on the sidewalk shot in the 3600 block of Jay Street, Northeast at approximately 8:34 p.m. She was transported to a local hospital, where she later died of her injuries.

Mother Suspected of Smothering Newborn Pleads Guilty to Voluntary Manslaughter

Sosefina Amoa, 26, pleaded guilty Friday to voluntary manslaughter in the smothering death of her infant son. In exchange for her plea, prosecutors have agreed to drop an initial charge of first-degree murder.

Through her attorney Judith Pipe, Amoa said she never intended to harm her son. In a state of “pain, shock, fear,” and the associated “tremendous pain and blood loss from a very difficult delivery,” Amoa placed her hand over her baby’s mouth “to quiet the baby so she could figure out what to do next,” said Pipe.

Tykia Dickerson, Jonathon Adams Identified Victims From Separate Thursday Homicides

A man and a woman who died Thursday night in two separate homicides have been identified by police.

At approximately 5:14 p.m., police found 17-year-old Jonathon Adams stabbed in the 4300 block of Halley Terrace, Southeast. Adams was taken to a local hospital for treatment where died from his injuries.

Tykia Dickerson, 19, was found lying on the sidewalk, shot, in the 3600 block of Jay Street, Northeast at approximately 8:34 p.m. She was transported to a local hospital, where she later died of her injuries.
