Eye Witness, Video Part of Testimony at Ahmad Robertson- Bey Preliminary Hearing

At a preliminary hearing Tuesday an MPD detective testified that an eye witness account, coupled with video footage, led police to arrest 22-year-old Ahmad Robertson- Bey in connection with the June shooting death of Andre Wilson.

Judge Robert E. Morin found probable cause at the hearing, sending the case to the grand jury to investigate. Robertson-Bey was ordered held in connection with the case. He is suspected of first-degree murder.

Testifying Tuesday, MPD Detective Mike Murphy said a witness claimed to have seen the fatal shooting.

Murphy also said police viewed video footage of a Metropolitan Police Department Crime Camera located at the corner of First Place and M Streets, Northwest. He said a portion of the video showed what appeared to be a group of men gathered just before one man began shooting at Wilson. The video depicted several people running in various directions after the shooting.

A felony status conference is scheduled in the case with Judge Beck on December 20th.

Ahmad Robertson-Bey Held in Shooting Death of Andre Wilson

Judge Karen Howze ruled Wednesday that there was enough evidence to hold Ahmad Robertson-Bey in connection with the the June shooting death of Andre Wilson. A preliminary hearing for Robertson-Bey, 22, has been scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on October 29.

On June 6, Wilson was found in the 1100 block of 1st Place Northwest in the early morning, suffering from gunshot wounds. According to charging documents, Wilson was later pronounced dead at 4:57 a.m. in a local hospital.

Documents state that officers found Robertson-Bey at about 3:45 a.m., limping in the area of First Street and Pierce Place Northwest. Robertson-Bey was then transported to a hospital and treated for a gunshot wound to the left foot.

After his release, Robertson-Bey told officers that he was never in the 1100 block of 1st Place Northwest prior to being shot, documents say. But charging documents state that forensic evidence indicates that known fingerprints from Robertson-Bey matched latent fingerprints recovered from a liquor bottle found next to Wilson's body on June 6.

According to one witness, a group of men was playing craps prior to the shooting.

The witness told police that seconds before the shooting took place, Wilson snatched money from a man called "Jabar." "Jabar" responded, "Oh it's like that," pulled out a handgun and fired it at Wilson's chest. The witness told police that "Jabar" ran towards the other side of the street as another man fired shots in his direction.

In a later interview with police, the witness identified Robertson-Bey from a line-up and told detectives that Robertson-Bey shot Wilson. Charging documents indicate that the witness's account is corroborated by ballistic evidence and the fact that police identified both Robertson-Bey and Wilson as shooting victims.

NW DC Man Arrested in Shooting Death of Andre Wilson

Twenty-two-year-old Ahmad Robertson-Bey of Northwest, DC was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of second-degree murder while armed in connection with the shooting death of Andre Wilson.

On June 6, Wilson was found in the 1100 block of 1st Place Northwest around 3:30 a.m. suffering from gunshot wounds; he later died at a local hospital.

Arrest Made in Homicide: 1100 Block of 1st Place, NW

(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announced an arrest has been made in the fatal shooting which occurred in the 1100 block of 1st Place, Northwest.

On Thursday, June 6, 2013 at approximately 3:47 am, patrol officers from the First District responded to the 1100 block of 1st Place, Northwest for the report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they located two adult males suffering from gunshot wounds. Personnel from DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services transported both shooting victims to a local hospital. The first shooting victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The second shooting victim was treated and released.

The decedent is identified as 26 year-old Andre Wilson of Northwest, Washington, DC.

On Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at approximately 8:15 am, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 22 year-old Ahmad Robertson-Bey of Northwest, Washington, D.C. He was charged with Murder Two while Armed in the shooting death of Andre Wilson.

Thursday Morning Shooting Victim Identified as Andre Wilson

A man who was fatally shot in Northwest D.C. Thursday morning has been identified as 26-year-old Andre Wilson.

Metropolitan police found Wilson in the 1100 block of 1st Place Northwest around 3:30 a.m. Thursday suffering from gunshot wounds; he later died at a local hospital.

A second victim in that shooting was treated at the hospital and released.

Double Shooting in NW DC Kills One Man

One man was killed and another injured in a shooting in Northwest DC early Thursday morning.

WUSA reports that the surviving victim was shot in the foot.

It was the second fatal shooting overnight; a man was killed in Southeast DC shortly after 10 p.m.

WJLA reports that the Northwest DC shooting:

happened less than a block away from the area where 13 people were injured in a drive-by shooting in mid-March.
That incident, which took place in the early morning hours of March 11, didn't critically wound anybody.
