Anthony Weathers, 25, Killed in 4th and V NE Shooting

A 25-year-old man died near the 2000 block of 4th Street Northeast last night after being shot in a nearby alley. Police identified him as Anthony Weathers of Suitland, Maryland.

Weathers was seen running across 4th Street and collapsing. Police say he "had been in the rear alley of the 300 block of V Street, NE, when he was shot multiple times by an unknown person. The victim then ran through the alley, ran across 4th Street, and collapsed in the 2000 block of 4th Street, NE, where he was located."

Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner Tim Clark sent the following tweet out about the shooting last night:

At about 9:30 pm tonight, Wednesday, October 31, police were called to the area near 4th and V Sts., NE, for the sounds of gunshots.

At the corner at corner of 4th and V, they found an adult male who had been shot.

The man was dead at the scene and homicide and 5D detectives are working on the case.

(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting which occurred in the 2000 block of 4th Street, NE.

On Wednesday, October 31, 2012, at approximately 9:48 pm, an adult male victim was observed running across the 2000 block of 4th Street, Northeast, Washington, DC, and collapsing in the street. The victim lost consciousness and was treated by personnel from DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services. The victim remained on the scene and was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia, pending an autopsy.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that the victim had been in the rear alley of the 300 block of V Street, NE, when he was shot multiple times by an unknown person. The victim then ran through the alley, ran across 4th Street, and collapsed in the 2000 block of 4th Street, NE, where he was located.

The decedent is identified as 25-year-old Anthony Weathers of Suitland, Maryland.
