Homehttp://homicidewatch.org/2014/06/30/woman-found-dead-in-ne-d-c-home/<p><iframe src="http://homicidewatch.org/api/v1/homicides/391.html" width="100%" height="350" frameborder=0></iframe></p> <p>A woman who died Friday night after being suffocated in a residence in the 4100 block of Gault Place Northeast has been identified by police, MPD announced Monday.</p> <p><a href="http://homicidewatch.org/victims/barbara-moore/">Barbara Moore</a>, 64, was found at approximately 8:35 p.m. Friday unconscious and unresponsive, with no signs of life. An autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined Sunday that Moore died from asphyxia by compression.</p> <p>Moore's death is the fifth reported homicide that has occurred in the past four days. The number of women who have died in homicides during 2014 is 11.</strong></p> <blockquote><p><strong>Homicide: 4100 Block of Gault Place, Northeast</strong></p> <p>(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide which occurred in the 4100 block of Gault Place, Northeast.</p> <p>On Friday, June 27, 2014, at approximately 8:35 pm, police officers from the Sixth District responded to a call for service for the report of an unconscious person in the 4100 block of Gault Place, Northeast. Upon arrival, they located an adult female unconscious and unresponsive inside a home. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel arrived on the scene and found no signs consistent with life. The decedent has been subsequently transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia where an autopsy will be performed to ascertain the cause and manner of death.</p> <p>On Sunday, June, 29, 2014, an autopsy was performed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia on the remains of the decedent. The cause of death has been determined to be asphyxia by compression. The manner was ruled a homicide.</p> <p>The decedent has been positively identified as 64-year-old Barbara Moore of Northeast, Washington, DC.</p> <p>The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
