NE DC Shooting Victim Identified as Carlows Michael Eady

The victim of a fatal shooting early Saturday morning has been identified as 25-year-old Carlows Michael Eady, MPD said this afternoon.

Eady was shot several times while in the 5300 block of Dix Street, NE. at about 12:30 Saturday morning. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Homicide in the 5300 block of Dix Street, NE

( Washington , DC )-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred in the 5300 block of Dix Street, NE.

On Saturday, October 1, 2011, at approximately 12:28 a.m., units from the Sixth District were dispatched to the 5300 block of Dix Street, NE , to investigate the report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they located an adult male who was unconscious, unresponsive and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Personnel from DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 12:57 a.m.. His remains have been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner pending an autopsy.

The decedent has been identified as 25-year-old Carlows Michael Eady of Northeast, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia .

If the information provided by the caller to the Crime Solvers Unit leads to an arrest and indictment, that caller will be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.

Man Killed in NE DC Shooting

A shooting in Northeast D.C. has killed a man, WJLA and NBC Washington report.

The shooting was first reported on MPD's Sixth District Listserve. Wrote Cmdr. Robert Contee,

The Sixth District is currently investigating a shooting in the 5300 Block of Dix Street N.E.

Anyone with information should call 1-888-919-CRIME or text information to 50411.

Contee's message was posted at 12:46 a.m. Saturday. While NBC Washington reported that the shooting happened "just after midnight," WJLA reported that it happened at 5:22 a.m.
