2nd Victim in NE DC Double Shooting Pronounced Dead

A double shooting which killed Raymond Harris early Saturday morning has taken the life of the second man who was shot, MPD said Sunday afternoon.

That second victim is identified 69-year-old Nathaniel Beasley, Jr of Southeast DC. Police said he was pronounced dead Sunday morning.

UPDATE: Second Victim Dies in Double Shooting in the 1100 block of Bladensburg Road, NE

(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a double shooting in the 1100 block of Bladensburg Road, Northeast, in which a second victim has died from his injuries.

On Saturday, December 22, 2012, at approximately 1:44 am, members of the Fifth District responded to a call for the report of a shooting in the 1100 block of Bladensburg Road, Northeast. Upon their arrival, members located an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds lying in the roadway. Members of the DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services treated the victim who had no signs consistent with life. He was transported to the DC Office of the Chief Medical Examiner pending an autopsy.

The decedent is identified as 44-year-old Raymond Harris of Northwest, Washington, DC.

Fifth District members also located a second adult male victim suffering from gunshot wounds in a vehicle in 1100 block of Bladensburg Road, Northeast. The second victim was transported to a local hospital and admitted in critical condition.

On Sunday, December 23, 2012 at approximately 8:44 am, the second victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

The second decedent is identified as 69-year-old Nathaniel Beasley, Jr of Southeast, Washington, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.

One Dead, One Injured in Early Morning NE DC Shooting

UPDATE: MPD has identified the deceased victim as 44-year-old Raymond Harris of Northwest DC.

One man was found dead and another seriously injured in Northeast DC early Saturday morning; both men had apparently been shot.

A message from Fifth District Comander Andy Solberg on the 5D listserv reads:

This morning, Saturday, December 22, 2012, at about 1:45 am, 5D officers were called to a scene in the 1100 block of Bladensburg Road, NE, for a reported shooting. When officers arrived, they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the men was lifeless at the scene. The second man was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

At this point we have no further information to release, but we ask that anyone who may have seen or heard anything in the area at that time please call 727-9099 to report it.

WUSA reports that both men were shot in the head and that the shooting was a drive-by.

The Washington Post reported that the vehicle was a white Chevy Impala.

Just before 11 a.m. Saturday, police identified the deceased victim as 44-year-old Raymond Harris of Northwest DC.

According to MPD's press release, Harris was found dead in the roadway. The second shooting victim, who was reported to be in critical condition, was found shot in a vehicle nearby.
