Thompson was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Robinson was arrested August 22 and held on a charge of second-degree murder while armed, Parks was arrested last week and held in suspicion of second-degree murder in connection with Thompson's death.

Arrests documents state that a witness who spoke to Thompson an hour before he was shot, told police Thompson said he was going to ride his scooter to the 700 block of 12th Street Southeast.

Another witness heard someone he identified as Carlos Parks talk about him and Robinson shooting Thompson for his scooter. The witness told police that Parks said Robinson approached Thompson pretending to buy his scooter, and then Robinson and Thompson walked away. A short while later Robinson shot Thompson in the leg, the witness said Parks told him.

The witness said Parks told Robinson to "finish him off" so he couldn’t identify them to the police, but Robinson wouldn’t; so Parks did.

Another witness told police that days after the shooting he overheard both defendants arguing about who shot Thompson where. The witness said they both admitted to shooting Thompson in the legs, but denied shooting him in the stomach.

Court documents state that Thompson suffered gunshot wounds to the groin, the back and left leg; the bullet that caused the back wound exited through his stomach and was the wound that caused his death.

Robinson's defense attorney, Kia Sears, argued Friday that because Robinson is implicated only in shooting Thompson's leg, he should not be considered responsible for his death. But Judge Frank Sullivan said the shot still contributed to the crime, and Thompson's death.

The case is scheduled for a felony status conference November 21 with Judge Herbert Dixon.
Ivan NatividadFri, 13 Sep 2013 16:45:27 -0400http://homicidewatch.org/2013/09/13/carlos-parks-and-troy-robinson-held-in-murder-of-tywayne-thompson/Tywayne ThompsonCarlos P ParksTroy Quentin RobinsonCarlos Parks Held in Connection with Tywayne Thompson Murderhttp://homicidewatch.org/2013/09/04/carlos-parks-held-in-connection-with-tywayne-thompson-murder/
Judge Karen Howze ruled that there was enough evidence Wednesday to hold Carlos Parks in connection with the the June shooting death of 25-year-old Tywayne Thompson.

Parks, 17, is the second suspect to be held in connection with the case. Troy Quentin Robinson was arrested in connection with Thompson's death in August. A preliminary hearing for Parks and Robinson has been scheduled for September 13.

On June 24, around 1:25 a.m., Thompson was found by police in the 700 block of 12th Street Southeast suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Thompson was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Prosecutors believe Thompson was killed over a failed scooter robbery.

Arrests documents say a witness heard Park "bragging" on two separate occasions about the shooting that killed Thompson. Park allegedly told the witness that he and an individual named "Shine" were going to pretend to buy Thompson's scooter, then rob him of it. According to the witness, Park said that "Shine" shot Thompson in the legs. The witness said Parks told Robinson to finish Thompson off so he couldn’t identify them to the police, but when Robinson was reluctant to fire, Parks did.

Another witness told police about an argument between Shine and Park several days after the shooting. In the argument, the witness told police that the two men argued about who shot Thompson in the legs and who shot Thompson in the stomach. In the alleged argument, neither Robinson nor Parks wanted to claim responsibility for shooting Thompson in the abdomen.

Court documents say Thompson suffered gunshot wounds to the back, groin and left leg; and the bullet that caused the back wound exited through his stomach.

A final witness observed individuals running from the 700 block of 12th Street Southeast moments after gunshots were heard. After a series of interviews, the witness identified the individuals running from the scene as Robinson and Park.

Charging documents will be added when they become available.
Megan ArellanoWed, 04 Sep 2013 16:53:07 -0400http://homicidewatch.org/2013/09/04/carlos-parks-held-in-connection-with-tywayne-thompson-murder/Tywayne ThompsonCarlos P ParksTroy Quentin RobinsonTroy Quentin Robinson Held in Connection with Tywayne Thompson Murderhttp://homicidewatch.org/2013/08/23/troy-quentin-robinson-held-in-connection-with-tywayne-thompson-murder/
Judge Karen Howze found probable cause Friday that Troy Quentin Robinson participated in the June shooting death of 25-year-old Tywayne Thompson.
