DC police just released the following statement on the shooting death of 16-year-old Raheem Jackson, who was killed Thursday night in Congress Heights:
(Washington, DC) —Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred in the 1300 block of Congress Street, S.E.
On Thursday, April 7, 2011, at approximately 9:25 pm, members of the Seventh District responded to the report of a shooting in the 1300 block of Congress Street, S.E. Upon arrival on the scene, they found a juvenile male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Personnel from DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to the hospital where he was subsequently pronounced dead.
The decedent is identified as 16-year-old, Raheem Jackson of the 1300 block of Congress Street S.E.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.

If the information provided by the caller to the Crime Solvers Unit leads to an arrest and indictment, that caller will be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
