18-Year-Old Anthony Hatton arrested in Monday Night Slaying of Tyrell Fogle, 17


A shooting in Northeast D.C. killed a teenager Monday night, and a second teen is suspected in the murder.

The Washington Post, WJLA and WUSA report that Tyrell Fogle, 17, was shot at about 10:34 Monday night.

Anthony Hatton, 18, is suspected of first-degree murder in the case. He was ordered held today pending a preliminary hearing, which is scheduled for Sept. 28.

Reports the Post:

District police on assignment in the 1900 block of Bennett Place NE heard the sound of gunfire. Officers saw Hatton, wearing a mask and holding a gun, shoot repeatedly at Fogle, who was shot multiple times before collapsing.

Officers chased Hatton and arrested him in the 700 block of 21st Street NE while D.C. Fire and EMS workers transported the victim to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
