Trinidad Stabbing Victim ID’ed as Alicia Wheeler; Claude Kinney Arrested in Connection with Case

A woman stabbed to death in a Trinidad alley Tuesday afternoon has been identified as 42-year-old Alicia Wheeler, the Washington Post reports. Claude Kinney, 48, has been arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder while armed, but has not yet been presented with the charge.

Arrest Made in the Homicide of Alicia Wheeler

(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced that an arrest has been made in the fatal stabbing of Alicia Wheeler.

On Tuesday, September 13, 2011, at approximately 3:09 pm, an officer from the Fifth District was flagged down in the 1200 block of Neal Street, NE to investigate the report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, the officer observed a female suffering from multiple lacerations to her body. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.

The decedent was identified as 42 year-old Alicia Wheeler of Northeast, DC.

The Metropolitian Police Departments 5th District Officers apprehended the suspect, identified as 48-year-old Claude Kinney of Northeast DC, in the 2300 block of New York Avenue, NE, and he was charged with First Degree Murder While Armed.
