Week Ahead

Each Friday, Homicide Watch brings you a list of upcoming hearings in the cases we follow. All hearings are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. unless otherwise noted. To add an item to the listing, email homicidewatchdc [at] gmail.com. To see scheduled court hearings beyond next week, see our calendar.

On Monday, Andrew Williams is expected for a status hearing with Judge Ronna Beck. He is suspected of first-degree murder in the death of Junon Snead.

On Tuesday, Christian Naverrette-Rivas is scheduled for a preliminary hearing with Judge Beck. He is suspected of second-degree murder while armed in the death of Miguel Angel Drullard Jr and was 16 when he was arrested in October.

On Wednesday, Raymond Roseboro is scheduled for a status hearing with Judge Beck. Roseboro is charged with first-degree murder of 16-year-old Prince Okorie. Roseboro pleaded innocent to the charge, and to three weapons charges associated with the case, on Sept. 14. Roseboro is scheduled for a jury trial on March 12.

On Thursday, Dominique Bassil is scheduled for a status hearing with Judge Robert Morin. Bassil is charged with second-degree murder while armed in the stabbing death of her boyfriend Vance Harris. Her attorney argued the stabbing could have been in self-defense. Bassil pleaded not guilty Dec. 15, 2011, and is scheduled for a jury trial for Oct. 22.

On Friday, Derrell Bennett and Reginald Vance are expected for a status hearing with Judge Beck. Bennett and Vance are charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Keith Banks in November 2010. A jury trial is set for April 17.

Patricia Cave is expected for a trial readiness hearing Friday with Judge Beck. Cave, 50, pleaded innocent to a charge of voluntary manslaughter in the stabbing death of her boyfriend Lamont Warren.

Eugene Kelly is expected for a status hearing Friday with Judge Thomas Motley. Kelly pleaded innocent to a charge of first-degree murder while armed in the death of 15-year-old Isaiah Harris.

Phillip Swan, Terrell Wilson and Theodore Spencer are expected for a status hearing with Judge Motley on the fatal beating of Glenn Scarborough. The men each pleaded innocent to charges of murder, kidnapping, robbery and weapons charges, among others at their Jan. 11 arraignment.

Kevin Benbow is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Friday with Judge William Jackson. Benbow is charged with first-degree murder while armed in the shooting death of Jinnell McQueen. The preliminary hearing has been postponed five times since Benbow’s April arrest.

Ray Dicks is scheduled for a felony status conference Friday with Judge Jackson. Dicks is charged with first-degree murder in the fatal stabbing of Eric Kearney.

Steven Cephas is scheduled for a sentencing hearing with Judge Jackson on Friday. In September, Cephas pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in the death of his girlfriend’s 20-month-old child, Dominic Dwayne Kingsbury Jr.

Terrence McNeal is expected for a felony status conference Friday with Judge Morin. McNeal is charged with second-degree murder in the stabbing death of Charles Hicks.
