Tarkeyshia Brown Waives Preliminary Hearing to Consider Plea Offer

Tarkeyshia Brown today waived her right to a preliminary hearing in order to gain more time to consider a plea offer made by the government.

Brown, 34, is suspected of first-degree murder while armed in the October 2011 stabbing death of Jawan Parker.

Charging documents in the case state that a drug debt may have led to the fatal attack.

The plea offer has not been made a part of the official case record.

Brown is due back in court for a status hearing on March 30.
