Ariston Jamal Dickson Charged in Murder of Robert Lesueur

Ariston Jamal Dickson was ordered held on a second-degree murder charge Wednesday in the shooting death of Robert Lesueur.

Charging documents in the case allege that the night he was killed Lesueur charged into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment and threatened her. Dickson shot him inside the apartment, the documents allege.

Relying on at least two witnesses, the documents allege that around 1:30 a.m. Monday Lesueur kicked his ex-girlfriend’s apartment door, yelling, “Let me in. I just want my charger.”

Another witness heard Lesueur yell, “Open this door or I will kick it down, and if it’s someone in there, he gotta see me,” according to charging documents.

Following a brief exchange of words with his ex-girlfriend, charging documents say Lesueur forced open the door, pushed her onto the couch, and headed for the master bedroom. Seconds later two gunshots were heard.

Charging documents allege that a masked man fled the apartment after the shots were fired; police later identified the masked man as Dickson.

Charging documents say the witnesses saw Dickson wearing a rolled-up ski mask earlier in the evening when he and Lesueur’s ex-girlfriend retreated to the master bedroom.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 16.
