Man Stabbed to Death in Year’s First Homicide

In the District’s first homicide of 2013, a man was fatally stabbed Thursday afternoon in the 2800 block of Alabama Avenue Southeast, near the Good Hope Marketplace.

Friends of the man said his name was Jamal Rich.

The Washington Post reports:

The victim, 38, had fought with two men inside a liquor store and employees ousted the three men, according to a police report. The scuffle continued outside in the 2800 block of Alabama Avenue SE, where the man was stabbed in the chest, the report said.

Police are looking for two men, “both of whom were described as men wearing a yellow reflective work vests,” the Washington Times adds.
