Three Shot, One Killed, in NW DC Early Sunday Morning

MPD announced that a second man, 20-year-old Derek Price, has died in the shooting.

Three people were shot early Sunday morning at a Northwest DC intersection and one of those injured has died of his injuries.

Police said Sunday that at about 1:18 a.m. three people, including a juvenile, were found shot in a car at the intersection of North Capitol and T streets Northwest. All were taken to local hospitals. One of the victims, 21-year-old Donchell Thomas, of Montgomery Village, Maryland died at the hospital.

Later Sunday, police arrested Jimmie Fleming, 36, of Northwest D.C. on suspicion of first-degree murder and assault with intent to kill in connection with the case.

Arrest Made in Homicide:
North Capitol & T Streets, NW

(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department have announced an arrest has been made in the homicide which occurred on Sunday, July 13, 2014, at the intersection of North Capitol Street and T Street NW.

On Sunday, July 13, 2014, at approximately 1:18 am, officers from the Fifth District responded to a call for a shooting at North Capitol and T Streets, NW. Upon arrival, one juvenile and two adults suffering from apparent gunshot wounds were located inside a vehicle. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the three victims to a local hospital where one of the adult victims succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 21 year-old Donchell Thomas of Montgomery Village, Maryland.

The investigation into this homicide has resulted in the arrest of 36 year-old Jimmie Fleming of Northwest, Washington, DC, who has been charged with First Degree Murder While Armed and Assault With Intent to Kill.
