Government prosecutors charging a 23-year-old D.C. man with the murder of a missing woman said in court documents filed Monday that the man has confessed to the crime.
The defendant, Brian Gaither, appeared in D.C. Superior Court Monday to be arraigned on a second-degree murder charge in the death of 18-year-old Latisha Frazier, who was reported missing by her mother on Aug. 4, 2010.
He was arrested Sunday on a misdemeanor bench warrant and questioned at that time by Metro Police, to whom he described the circumstances of Frazier’s death at a Trenton Place SE apartment.
Gaither stated that there were six people present at the time of the assault. There were three females and three males. Gaither states the three females jumped Latisha Frazier and beat her severely, she was bleeding but still conscious when he “finished her off.” Gaither did not go into details on how he finished her off he just stated that he had.
Gaither is due in court again February 11 for a preliminary hearing.
