A shooting Friday afternoon in the 2300 Block of Good Hope Road in Southeast D.C. killed a 53 yeear old D.C. man whom police identified tonight as Anthony Lynn Willford.

HOMICIDE: 2300 Block of Good Hope Road, SE
( Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting which occurred in the 2300 block of Good Hope Road, SE.
On Friday, February 25, 2011, at approximately 12:00 pm, units from the Sixth District responded to the 2300 block of Good Hope Road, SE, to investigate the report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, officers located a victim inside of the location suffering from gunshot wounds. Personnel from DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The decedent has been identified as 53-year-old Anthony Lynn Willford of Southeast, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
