Joshua Andrews, a Southeast D.C., man was arrested today in connection with the shooting of Darond Lucas, 17, last June. Andrews, 19, is being held on suspicion of first-degree-murder while armed.
Arrest Made in the Homicide of Darond Lucas
( Washington, DC)- Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced an arrest has been made in the homicide of Darond Lucas.
On Saturday, June 5, 2010, at approximately 2:55 am, units from the Seventh District were dispatched to the 1600 block of W Street, SE to investigate the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an unconscious subject who was suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Service personnel responded and determined the victim had no signs of life. The victim was then transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, where he was pronounced dead.
The victim in this case has been identified as 17-year-old Darond Lucas of the 2300 block of Pitts Place, SE.
On Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at approximately 7:55 am, 19-year-old Joshua Andrews of Southeast, D.C., was arrested by members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Taskforce pursuant to an arrest warrant charging him with First Degree Murder while Armed, for the shooting of Darond Lucas.
