William Parker, of Capitol Heights, Md, was killed in Southeast D.C. Parker, 45, was found injured from gunfire in a car last Friday night around 8 p.m.
Kevin Andre Washington, of Northwest D.C., was found dead near Washington Hospital Center. Washington, 20, had been shot to death. His father, also Kevin Washington, was murdered 17 years ago.
Chamontae Walker was held in the shooting death of Darrel Hendy. Walker, 35, is suspected of first degree murder in the September shooting. Eighteen-year-old Meeko Carraway is also charged in the case.
Government prosecutors in the Latisha Frazier case formally opposed a defense attorney’s motion to compel D.C. authorities to search for the body of the missing 18-year-old, believed to be buried in a Virginia landfill since her killing in August. They said conducting a landfill search would be costly, time consuming, and could likely fail.
James Anthony Speaks, a 22-year-old Northwest D.C. man, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder in the shooting death of Shonell Correia on Quincy Street NW last week.
Funerals and vigils were held throughout the week for recent homicide victims. Among them: Reginald Williams, Raheem Jackson and Joshua Ruffin.
