Damien Pannell arrested in Stabbing Death of Glenn Bailey

A homeless 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the stabbing death of Glenn M. Bailey, MPD announced this evening.

Damien Pannell was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder Wednesday morning, according to MPD’s release.

Bailey was killed Tuesday afternoon. Court records show Pannell has not yet been presented with the charge.

Arrest Made in the Homicide on 7th & Edgewood Streets, Northeast

(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced an arrest has been made in the homicide of Glenn M. Bailey.

On Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at approximately 3:38 pm, units from the Fifth District were dispatched to the 600 block of Edgewood Street, NE for the report of an unconscious person. Upon their arrival, they located an adult male victim in the area of 7th and Edgewood Streets, NE who was unconscious, unresponsive, and suffering from apparent stab wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the victim to a local hospital where he was subsequently pronounced dead.

The decedent is identified as 46 year-old Glenn M. Bailey of Northeast, Washington, DC.

On Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at approximately 11:00 am, 30-year-old Damien Pannell, of no fixed address, was arrested in the 600 block of Edgewood Street, NE by members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Taskforce and charged him with Second Degree Murder.
