The Week Ahead

Each Friday Homicide Watch brings you a tickler of which murder cases are coming up in the DC courts. Highlights this week are a status hearing in the Latisha Frazier murder case, and a possible plea deal in the death of Gregory Joyner.

Monday

Antoine Taylor in courtroom 320 (Judge Gerald Fisher) for a status hearing in a first-degree murder case.The victim, Joshua Hopkins, was shot to death July 3, 2010. Taylor is represented by attorney Russell Hairston. The hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.

Deangelo Garner in courtroom 310 (Judge Lynn Leibovitz) for a status hearing in a second-degree murder case. The victim, Antonio Valdez Vela, was shot to death Aug 2010. Garner is represented by attorney Justin Okezie. The hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.

Wednesday

Ronald Taylor in 310 (Judge Lynn Leibovitz) for a status hearing in a felony negligent homicide case.The victim, Bartlett Tabor, was killed in a vehicle collision in 2008. Taylor is represented by attorneys John Carney and Nikki Lotze. The hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.

Friday

Donald Crosland in courtroom 319 (Judge Thomas Motley) for a status hearing in a first-degree murder case. The victim, Ricardo Minger, was shot to death Jan. 7. Crosland is represented by attorney Dennis Braddock. The hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.

Brandon Miller in courtroom 216 (Judge Thomas Motley) for a preliminary hearing in a first-degree murder case. The victim, Jamal Coates, was shot to death Sept. 28, 2010. Miller is represented by attorney Anthony Matthews. The hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.

Timothy Foreman and Carl Purvis in courtroom 319 (Judge Thomas Motley) for a status hearing in a first-degree murder case. The victim, Gregory Joyner, was shot to death Nov. 2010. Foreman is represented by attorney Steven Polin. Purvis is represented by attorney Premal Dharia. The hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.

Brian Gaither, Laurence Hassan, Aneka Nelson, Cinthya Proctor and Johnnie Sweet in courtroom 302 (Judge William Jackson) for a status hearing in a first-degree murder case. The victim, Latisha Frazier, is believed to have been beaten to death in August 2010. Gaither is represented by attorney Eugene Ohm. Hassan is represented by attorney Daniel Harn. Nelson is represented by attorney Richard Finci. Proctor is represented by attorney Daniel Quillin. Sweet is represented by attorney James Rudasill. The hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.
