A man shot to death in Northwest DC early Wednesday morning has been identified by authorities as 32-year-old Marcellus J. Darnaby of no fixed address.
In a press release, MPD officials said Darnaby was found shot inside an apartment on Delafield Place shortly after 1 a.m. He was transported to a local hospital where he died.

Homicide: 300 Block of Delafield Place, NW
(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting which occurred in the 300 block of Delafield Place, NW.
On Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at approximately 1:04 am, units from the Fourth District were dispatched to the 300 block of Delafield Place, NW for the sounds of gunshots. Upon their arrival, they located an adult male victim inside an apartment suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded and transported the victim to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was later pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 32 year-old Marcellus J. Darnaby of no fixed address.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
