MPD announced this morning that 19-year-old Terrell Patton of Southeast DC was arrested Saturday in connection with a 2009 shooting that killed 20-year-old Deuante Ray.
Patton is the second person arrested in connection with the case. In November a person was arrested and charged with first degree murder while armed in Ray’s death.

Second Arrest Made in the 2009 Homicide of Deuante Ray
(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announced a second arrest has been made in the 2009 fatal shooting of Deuante Ray.
On Friday, October 30, 2009, at approximately 12:36 am, units from the Sixth District responded to the rear of 1109 48th Street, NE for the sounds of gunshots. Upon their arrival, they located the victim lying in the alley in the rear of 1107 48th Street, NE. The victim was unconscious and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Personnel from the DC Fire and Medical Services responded to the scene and determined that the victim had no signs consistent with life and his remains were later transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
The decedent has been identified as 20-year-old Deuante Ray of Northeast, DC.
On November 23, 2009 a suspect was arrested and charged with First Degree Felony Murder while armed pursuant to an arrest warrant.
On Saturday, July 2, 2011 at approximately 4:45 pm, 19-year-old Terrell Patton was arrested in the 3700 block of Horner Place, SE, by members of the Seventh District for unrelated charges. It was subsequently learned there was an outstanding arrest warrant for Mr. Patton for First Degree Felony Murder while armed for the homicide shooting of Deuante Ray and he was additionally charged with that offense.
