MPD this evening announced an arrest in an October 2010 homicide that killed 24-year-old Ronald Johnson in Northwest DC.
Anthony Donnell Peoples is suspected of second-degree murder while armed in the case and has been arrested, MPD said.

Arrest Made in the Homicide of Ronald Johnson
( Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced that an arrest has been made in the fatal shooting of 24 year-old Ronald Johnson.
On Monday, October 25, 2010 at approximately 11:34 pm, officers from the Third District were in the area of the 900 block of Westminster Street, NW when they heard sounds of gunshots. Officers then responded to that scene to investigate and discovered an adult male victim in the rear of the 900 block of Westminster Street, NW suffering from a gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
On Tuesday, August 16, 2011, at approximately 10:30 am, members from the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 25 year-old Anthony Donnell Peoples of Northeast, Washington, DC, pursuant to a DC Superior Court warrant charging him with Second Degree Murder while Armed.
