MPD has released surveillance video from the bus just prior to this morning’s shooting, which killed 22-year-old Demetrius Thompson.
MPD hopes that the public will view the video and help identify two people pictured on it boarding the bus just before the shooting.

Persons of Interest Sought in Homicide in the 2100 block of Alabama Avenue, SE
(Washington, DC)- The Metropolitan Police Department is currently investigating the homicide of 22-year-old Demetrius Thompson, which occurred on October 20, 2011 at approximately 12:08 AM.
Mr. Thompson was fatally shot on a Metro bus which had stopped at 2125 Alabama Avenue SE. The Department is seeking assistance in identifying two subjects who are seen in surveillance video, boarding the bus just prior to the shooting.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted from any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to DC CRIME SOLVERS at 1-800-673-2777 and to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411. If the information provided by the caller to the Crime Solvers Unit leads to an arrest and indictment, that caller will be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
