A 33-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the stabbing death of Jawan Parker, MPD 5th District Commander Andy Solberg said on a community listserv this afternoon.
A press release from MPD states that the woman’s name is Tarkeyshia R. Brown. She’s suspected of first-degree murder while armed, according to the release.
I want to inform all that the MPD made an arrest in the murder of Jawan Parker. Mr. Parker was killed in the 1900 block of I Street. , NE , on Sunday, October 16, 2011.
Yesterday, Friday, October 21, 2011, a 33 year old woman was arrested and charged in his murder.

Homicide Arrest: 1900 Block of I Street, NE
(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced that an arrest has been made in the fatal stabbing which occurred in the 1900 block of I Street, NE.
On Sunday, October 16, 2011 at approximately 8:20 pm, units from the Fifth District responded to the 1900 block of I Street, NE, for the report of a stabbing. Upon their arrival, they located a male suffering from stab wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 31 year-old Jawan Parker of Northeast, Washington, DC.
On Friday, October 21, 2011 at approximately 1:10 pm, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested and charged 33-year-old Tarkeyshia R. Brown of no fixed address. She is charged with Murder One While Armed pursuant to an arrest warrant in connection with the homicide of Jawan Parker.
