Legislation to force D.C. nightclubs to increase security may be in the works after this weekend’s Dupont Circle fight that left one man dead and five others injured, D.C. Councilman Jack Evans said yesterday.
The legislation would allow “off-duty police officers, paid by the establishment, to patrol outside the streets to make sure that when people do leave they leave in an orderly fashion,” said Evans, reported MyFoxDC
The Alcoholic Beverage Control Board is investigating what happened early Sunday morning and is expected to review a report today, reports the Washington Times
