In a written statement to Homicide Watch, Councilman Jim Graham, said the indictment against seven alleged gang members believed to be responsible for three homicides in Northwest DC is a “huge breakthrough in breaking up one of the most violent gang wars in Ward One.”

If the charges are found to be true, this is very good news. It is a huge breakthrough in breaking up one of the most violent gang wars in Ward One, and possibly the entire city. The shoot outs involving the gangs mentioned in this indictment have brought great harm and fear to Ward One for years.
I want to thank the United States Attorney’s Office, the Metropolitan Police Department and all other agencies for bringing their full investigative powers to bear on this battle for turf, drugs and unwarranted prestige.
These indictments send a powerful message that we are determined to win this tough battle against entrenched gangs and the violence they produce.
