The FBI, MPD, US Attorney’s Office, and Montgomery County Police have joined forces in a renewed effort to identify a man responsible for a series of violent sexual attacks on DC-area women more than 13 years ago.
With new evidence in the cases, those organizations launched a “full court press” today with billboards, media reports, podcasts, and a website.
“We are seeking justice for nine women,” US Attorney Ronald Machen said. “Cold cases can be solved after many years and often times these cases need just one person to step forward.”
A modus operandi and/or DNA evidence link nine attacks on women between May 6, 1991 and Aug. 1, 1998. The last linked attack left one woman, Christine Mirzayan, a 29-year-old Georgetown resident, dead.
