Keir Johnson and Marcellus Jackson Arrested in Jacksonville, NC

Two alleged gang members wanted in connection with several murders have been arrested in North Carolina and are headed back to D.C. for arraignment, MPD confirmed Wednesday morning.

The Jacksonville Daily News first reported that Marcellus Jackson and Keir Johnson had been arrested.

Marcellus Jackson and Keir Johnson were among seven men named in an 80-count indictment that detailed five years of gang violence in Adams Morgan, Columbia Heights and the U Street corridor.

The Jacksonville Daily News reported:

Two fugitive gang members allegedly wanted in connection to numerous violent crimes in Washington, D.C., were caught in Onslow County this week, authorities said.

Officers from the Jacksonville Police Department provided assistance to the U.S. Marshals Office in serving a warrant at approximately 7:45 p.m. Monday in the 200 block of Bracken Place, according to information from JPD. As a precautionary measure to protect public safety, the JPD.Tactical Team, as well as a K-9 unit, was activated to secure the area.

Keir Maurice Johnson, 21, and Marcellus Eugene Jackson, 23, both of Washington, D.C., were charged with fugitive of justice, according to the press release from JPD. Both are being held at the Onslow County Jail with no bond.
