Update 12 p.m. NBC Washington and the Washington Post report that the victim of a Friday night shooting in Northeast DC has been identified as 21-year-old Shawn Junior Ray.

A double shooting in Northeast DC late Friday night left one man dead, according to media reports.
Robert Contee, commander of MPD’s Sixth District, said early Saturday morning in a listserv message that a shooting took place in the 4200 Block of Edson Pl. N.E.
WUSA reports that one man was pronounced dead at that location and another was taken to a hospital. According to WUSA
Police had a sketchy lookout for three men and is still trying to determine the motive for the shooting.

Homicide in the
4200 block of Edson Place, N.E.(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating the fatal shooting which occurred in the 4200 block of Edson Place, NE.
On Friday, March 16, 2012, at approximately 11:30 pm, units from the Sixth District responded to the 4200 block of Edson Place, NE, for the report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they located two adult male victims. The first victim was found unconscious and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Personnel from DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and determined there were no signs of life. The second victim was located with an apparent gunshot wound and was transported by personnel from DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital for treatment.
The decedent has been identified as 21 year-old Shawn Junior Ray of Northeast, Washington, DC.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
