The Washington Times reports that an attack on a pregnant woman in DC last night is being investigated as a homicide because the woman’s eight-month-old fetus died. The woman survived.
Reports the Washington Times:
Officers were called to the woman’s home in the 4200 block of 9th Street Southeast around 2:15 a.m. for a report of a stabbing.
Police said the woman was asleep on her living room couch but was awakened when a man broke in through the locked front door. Once the man was inside he stabbed her in the stomach and fled.

Undetermined Infant Death in the 4200 Block of 9TH Street, SE
(Washington, DC)- Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Special Victims Unit are investigating a stabbing which occurred in the 4200 block of 9th Street, SE.
On Thursday, March 22, 2012, at approximately 2:30 am, officers from the Seventh District responded to the 4200 block of 9th Street, SE, to investigate the report of a Stabbing inside of the location. Upon their arrival, they located a pregnant adult female victim suffering from an apparent stab wound. There were no apparent signs of forced entry. Personnel from the DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment.
A male infant who has been identified as Kuron Rashad Hunt was delivered and was later pronounced dead. This case is currently undetermined pending the results of an autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
