A jury trial in the case of a woman suspected of fatally stabbing her former boyfriend has been postponed until next month.
Patricia Cave was due to stand trial today on a charge of voluntary manslaughter while armed.
According to charging documents in the case, Cave told detectives that on June 2 another argument with her boyfriend, Lamont Warren, turned physical. Cave picked up the phone to call 911, but Warren slapped the phone out of her hand, she said. Then, when Warren grabbed her around the neck, she grabbed a knife that was near the bed, Cave said, motioning stabbing movements to detectives.
The trial date change is the second in the case; a Feb. 21 trial date was vacated and replaced with March 22. The trial is now scheduled for April 9.
