Baby Born to Stabbing Victim Declared Dead from Homicide


MPD reports that the death of an eight-month old fetus, who died after being delivered Thursday, has been ruled a homicide.

The child, identified as Kuron Rashad Hunt, was born after his mother was stabbed in the abdomen. The mother survived but Hunt, delivered after the stabbing, died shortly after.

UPDATE: Homicide of Infant in the 4200 Block of 9th Street, SE

(Washington, DC) Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Special Victims Unit are investigating a homicide by stabbing which occurred in the 4200 block of 9th Street, SE.

On Thursday, March 22, 2012, at approximately 2:30 am, officers from the Seventh District responded to the 4200 block of 9th Street, SE, to investigate the report of a stabbing inside of the location. Upon their arrival, they located a pregnant adult female victim suffering from an apparent stab wound. There were no apparent signs of forced entry. Personnel from the DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment.

A male infant who has been identified as Kuron Rashad Hunt was delivered and was later pronounced dead. On Friday, March 23, 2012 an autopsy was conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The manner of death has been ruled homicide and the cause of death was a stab wound to the torso.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
