A jury convicted Chamontae Walker of first-degree murder for the death of Darrel Hendy today and found his co-defendant, Corey Yates, guilty of second degree murder.
The jury of seven women and five men also found Walker guilty on charges of accessory after the fact, assault on a police officer, and conspiracy. He was found innocent regarding two weapons charges.
Yates was found guilty of being an accessory after the fact, but not guilty of conspiracy.
Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 26 at 11:30.
A third suspect, Meeko Carraway, pleaded guilty in the case and was sentenced to 25 years in prison in April.
