Reports: Metrobus Shooting Suspect Commits Suicide

Javon Steven Foster, accused of killing 20-year-old Selina Brown as she boarded a Metrobus Sunday evening, has committed suicide in Long Island, N.Y., NBC Washington reports.

MyFoxDC confirms that Foster is dead, and reports that the shooting was the culmination of a long-troubled relationship:

Brown is the daughter of a D.C. Police officer. Derrick Ferguson, a 16-year veteran of the department, could barely keep his composure as he talked Monday afternoon about his daughter Selina.

She was a 20-year-old who had finally had enough of a troubled relationship.

I tried to get her to go into the Navy,” says Ferguson. “I tried to get her to file complaints. She just wouldn’t listen.”

Selina’s mother says her daughter was arguing with her boyfriend all weekend long. It was an argument she says that ended at the bus stop when Selina decided it was over.

She would say things, but when I tell her, ‘Okay, let’s go file this complaint,’ the next morning, she would be on the phone with him laughing and giggling,” says Ferguson.
