UPDATE: MPD has identified the deceased victim as 44-year-old Raymond Harris of Northwest DC.
One man was found dead and another seriously injured in Northeast DC early Saturday morning; both men had apparently been shot.
A message from Fifth District Comander Andy Solberg on the 5D listserv reads:
This morning, Saturday, December 22, 2012, at about 1:45 am, 5D officers were called to a scene in the 1100 block of Bladensburg Road, NE, for a reported shooting. When officers arrived, they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the men was lifeless at the scene. The second man was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

WUSA reports that both men were shot in the head and that the shooting was a drive-by.
The Washington Post reported that the vehicle was a white Chevy Impala.
Just before 11 a.m. Saturday, police identified the deceased victim as 44-year-old Raymond Harris of Northwest DC.
According to MPD’s press release, Harris was found dead in the roadway. The second shooting victim, who was reported to be in critical condition, was found shot in a vehicle nearby.

Double Shooting Results in a Homicide in the 1100 block of Bladensburg Road, NE
(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a double shooting in the 1100 block of Bladensburg Road, Northeast, in which an adult male has died of his injuries.
On Saturday, December 22, 2012, at approximately 1:44 am, members of the Fifth District responded to a call for the report of a shooting in the 1100 block of Bladensburg Road, Northeast. Upon their arrival, members located an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds lying in the roadway. Members of the DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services treated the victim who had no signs consistent with life. He was transported to the DC Office of the Chief Medical Examiner pending an autopsy.
The decedent is identified as 44-year-old Raymond Harris of Northwest, Washington, DC.
Fifth District members also located a second adult male victim suffering from gunshot wounds in a vehicle in 1100 block of Bladensburg Road, Northeast. The second victim was transported to a local hospital and admitted in critical condition.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
